HealthSouth Lakeview Hosts Community 30th Anniversary Celebration
On Sept. 21 from 4 -7 p.m., a community celebration will be held in honor of the hospital’s 30th anniversary of caring for patients overcoming debilitating illnesses and injuries.
The event will be held at the hospital located at 134 Heartland Dr. and will offer refreshments, a silent auction benefiting The Community Health Clinic, local vendors, complimentary blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, a live remote broadcast by Greg and Holly of WQXE, a Medicare information session, hospital tours, children’s activities and more.
“The Elizabethtown community has shown us tremendous support over the past 30 years,” said HealthSouth Lakeview CEO Lori Jarboe. “We are proud to play our part in our patients’ return to the community and the activities they love. Since opening our doors in 1987, we have served approximately 63,000 patients, friends and neighbors. As the county’s exclusive acute rehabilitation hospital, we look forward to continuing to nurture the health and functional mobility of our community by offering comprehensive rehabilitation services, including the most state-of-the art technologies and treatments available. Serving the needs of those in our community has taken the work of many team members and community partners - and we recognize and are grateful for each and every one.”
This event will be held as part of the hospital’s National Rehabilitation Week activities. National Rehabilitation Awareness Week was established in 1976 to create awareness of people with disabilities and promote the benefits of rehabilitation. In 1990, a presidential proclamation designated the third week of September as National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, which has grown to include more than 7,000 organizations.
